Hope you surely recall the story of the discovery of the airplane; the two Wright Brothers Orville and Wilbur dreamt of the possibility of man flying like bird in the air, many saw that as an imagination that can never be accomplished and ridiculed the energetic visionary brothers but their vision has driven the world to an unimagined point where we all now stand basking in the euphoria of their discovery, many have passed through the stages of mockery because they had an idea that will yield the transformation of the world, , Benjamin Franklin knew that there was something beautiful in charges and fields and he championed the discovery of electricity, Charles Babbage saw beyond what the normal eye could see, he saw that man needed help, a device that can carry out his biddings even much more quicker than man; one that can garbage out whatsoever he garbage in , that led him to invent the computer which earned him the title the father of the modern day computer, Thomas Edison thought that the world needed a glow and he invented the light bulb, should we mention steve Jobs, what about the billionaire Bill Gates, we have gotten to that path where fiction has become another bizarre word in the dictionary of fools and underachievers, the world is plying the uttermost height soaring through lengths and breadths that have not been viewed through the kaleidoscope of possibility at times afore; these days we all are been thrilled and driven to the peak of ecstasy by the effusion of modern day technological equipments, most of these technologies, we have written exclusively on in our former blogs which have gone a long way in disrupting the procedures cum world and business routine include; Internet of things, Artificial intelligence, E-learning, E-commerce, Blockchain Technology, Website development, Metaverse, Robotic Process Automation, Virtual Reality, Internet of Behavior, the beauty and the adverse effects of the newly discovered smart home technology and surely we have not omitted the demon that has haunted the advent of this internet age which has ruined certain companies and has even driven so many more to rue the modern day technology; Cyber crime.

Meta or should I say Facebook is one of the leading front liners and recently they have shown that they are a great force to reckon with when Mark Zuckerberg; its founder unveiled a spy glass; a first generation smart glass.

The advent of spy movies thrilled us with such glasses which allowed the users to do awesome things like recording, taking shots and much more but today, Meta’s boss brings about its reality in the Ray-Ban glasses.

According to Mark, these glasses are designed with a dual integrated 5MP camera that can help you capture life’s images with 2,592x1,944 pixels resolution and also has the unique ability of recording 30 seconds video with 1,184x1,184 pixels. You can choose to use the capture button on the right temple or better still the hand free automated voice command to instruct Ray-Ban to play your favorite music or record an event you’re currently viewing. Ray-Ban is equipped also with touch sensitive controls that control music playback, calls, and volume with just a single-tap, double-tap and triple-tap gestures. Its camera has a hard wired capture LED lights up to tell people around that they are being captured or recorded so that you won’t catch anyone near you off guard as Meta Company happens to be ardent believers in protecting privacy.

As we can envisage the Ray-Ban glasses are connected to the internet having a Facebook app with which you can share your real life experiences with friends all over the world, Ray-Ban glasses function with built-in streamlined opened –ear speakers while three microphone audio array, Beamforming technology and its background suppression system makes you have a very good sound like your headphones whilst recording a video or making a call.

One of its unique features is that a user can decide to share his seamless memories with apps on his phone like Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitter, Snapchat and so on.  

These glasses are currently available in retail stores in US, Canada, Australia, Ireland and even Italy and they are sold at approximately $300 dollars 

In order to curb certain adverse effects which may result ranging from accidents due to collisions and privacy infringements, Meta gives a concise tip on how to wear the Ray-Ban Smart glasses which include:

#1. Respect people’s preferences: Not everyone loves a photo so stop recording if anyone expresses they would rather not be in the photo, this will eliminate conflict arising from probing into privacy.

#2. Power off in private place: Turn off the glasses in certain places like the doctor’s office, locker room, public bathroom, schools or places of worship.

#3. Let the capture LED Light shine: Show others how the capture LED works so they know that they are being recorded. Tampering with the light is against Meta’s terms of service.

#4. Be a good community Member: Obey the law, don’t use your glasses to engage in harmful activities like harassment, infringing on privacy rights, or capturing sensitive information like pin codes.

#5. Keep your eyes on the road: Don’t capture images or videos when you are driving and also stay focused while using heavy machinery; this is essential for safety precautions.

But many are still pondering at the likelihood of users to abide by these rules, if the rules are upheld by users we all can go to bed with both eyes shut believing we might have nothing to worry about, but we are not going to rule out the inherent free spirited nature of the human race; his ability to try what is out of the ordinary, to do that which ought not be done and bearing this in mind it leads droves of people to consider the likely menace which the Ray-Ban stories glasses can cause the society at large.
